In order to avoid stress corrosion of the clamp, use tape to isolate the clamp from the corrosive environment, i.e. the ground. Stress corrosion occurs in the case of synergy of two factors: the corrosive environment, i.e. the ground, and the constant stress force on the clamp plates caused by the twisted screws. Elimination of the corrosive environment prevents the occurrence of stress corrosion.
